Summary of Regulations

The burial authority has adopted the following regulations in order to maintain the feeling of serenity and dignity appropriate to this lawn cemetery. They are to ensure that the long term care of the cemetery can be carried out both appropriately and effectively. The regulations also allow for the long term care of all grave spaces. This means that when those who initially care for the graves are no longer able to do so, there is the assurance that there will be a continuation of sympathetic attention.

All graves are to have flat grassed surfaces, which is the essence of a lawn cemetery.

In order to preserve the lawn aspect of the cemetery, there should be no planting on the grave spaces please.

Memorial headstones with a plinth may be used, but without kerbing or fencing on the grave area.

It is requested that any vases or plants be placed on the plinth itself.

You are respectfully asked to observe the regulations.

A copy of the full regulations may be obtained from the Parish Council office at Needingworth Village Hall.

NOTE:

ALL GRAVES MORE THAN 12 MONTHS OLD WILL BE LEVELLED AND SEEDED BY THE PARISH COUNCIL IF IT HAS NOT ALREADY BEEN DONE.

THE COUNCIL WILL ALSO CONTACT ANY RELATIVES WHERE THE ABOVE RULES ARE NOT BEING ADHERED TO.
