  Checking Ashtrees for disease   ()

Ash dieback (Chalara fraxinea) is a fungal infection affecting ash trees. This disease is most prevalent in East Anglia. The current strateg is to allow the disease to take it's natural course - for both ecological reasons and to test the natural resistance of British trees - but to slow it down by avoiding the transfer of infection (by clothes, animals, machinery, tools, etc.) to non-affected areas.
